The annual Eastern Washington Legislative Conference, co-sponsored by Fig Tree, Faith Action Network and Catholic Charities, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Spokane Valley United Methodist, focusing on the theme of “Making IT Happen” to encourage people to call to action surrounding social justice issues and public policy.

The annual Eastern Washington Legislative Conference will be held in Spokane later this month to address a variety of issues that are of concert to nonprofit and faith communities.

Next week the Friends of Compassion meeting, titled, "Good News about Good Works and Good People: Is Compassion Contagious?" will highlight The Fig Tree Editor Mary Stamp and Spokane Faith & Values Editor Tracy Simmons.

The Fig Tree is celebrating its 30th year of publication with a breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and an anniversary dinner.

On Jan. 25 The Faith Action Network and The Fig Tree will host its annual Eastern Washington Legislative Conference
