Our Lady of Lourdes isn’t alone when it comes to criminal activity surrounding the church -- and the nation has taken notice.

This Sunday is the Feast of St. Francis. Famous for preaching to the birds and blessings all living things, Francis is often celebrated in congregations with a Blessing of the Animals rite.

Ok, so this little excursus on early virgin martyrs may seem gruesome, but it is a reminder that this is part of being church.

I suppose it’s this unpredictability that leads to some fear and concern about safety.

“Should we allow guns in our Church building?” That was on of the questions that was posed at our last Church Management Board Meeting.
