The Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane will host its annual conference, “Resist and Rise Up” this month at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 W. Fort George Wright Drive.
The event will kick off with an opening reception Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. with entertainment and wine, and then the day-long event will be the next day, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m – 5 p.m.
Sandy Williams, publisher of The Black Lens, is this year’s keynote speaker and will be presenting, “The Art of War.”
Attendees also have a choice of 21 workshops including “Bystander Intervention,” by Tara Dowd, “Friar Tuck Faith,” by Rev. Liv Larson Andrews and “LGBTQ Equality: Yesterday’s progress, Today’s challenges, Tomorrow’s opportun
Early bird registration is $40, $30 for PJALS members and $15 for those “living lightly.”
