The Peace and Economic Justice Action Conference’s Opening Reception “Rise Up Singing” will kick off the Peace and Justice Action League’s annual Action Conference with spoken word and musical performances on Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Performances will include musical comedian Michael Glatzmaier, music by Lucas Brookbank Brown, the art of belly dancing by Paloma Skye and Nicole Richardson, spoken word by Diamond Young and Josh Pearce, and improvised comedy by The Blue Door Theatre.

The conference begins Saturday, andcommunity organizing and grassroots leadership development for human rights, economic justice, and peace,” according to a press release.

All are invited to the kick off celebration, which will include food and beer and wine. It’s not necessary to register for the Action Conference to come be part of the reception.
The reception will take place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Spokane, 4340 Ft. Wright Drive.
