When a water drop hits the surface of a pool we see it being absorbed by the surface and becoming a part of the greater pool. With the advent of extreme slow motion we see that the drop actually bounces a couple times to break the surface tension before it is able to be absorbed.

As human beings we are always a part of the God consciousness, it is the pool of humanity that we sometimes bounce off and have to work at becoming a part of. It is within the human pool that we make our ripples and our being-ness can feel like it is being absorbed; yet we always keep our individuality while adding to the greater human consciousness.

It is our spiritual path that keeps us conscious of the connection we have with God, that pure Spirit, pure Consciousness. Our personal job is becoming part of humanity, not absorbed by it. It is here that the saints and sages have walked that fine line, between spirit and humanity, and made their ripples.
