FAVS News religion columnist Julie Ferraro is donating her newest book, “The Wee Book of How Not to be Beige: Drawn from the Wisdom of Billy Connolly,” to support the FāVS Local News Day fundraising campaign. Donors who become new members or make a one-time gift of at least $50 on or before April 9, can choose the book as a thank-you gift.
Inspired by “Scotland’s favorite son,” it celebrates nonconformity and encourages readers to reject dull societal norms and embrace individuality.
Ferraro started writing short stories on a Smith-Corona manual typewriter in 1973, and expanded her fictional endeavors into novels, poetry and stageplays, while simultaneously delving into journalism.
She has written for many Catholic diocesan and national periodicals over more than 30 years, eager to tell inspiring stories of faith and the people who strive to make the world a better place for all God’s creation.
