Pope Francis is the first pope and modern Catholic that has challenged, inspired and moved me since Mother Teresa. The former pope kinda’ scared me, he just seemed overly ecclesiastical.
Pope Francis acts like a man of the people more than a man over the people. I know I’m a witness at a distance and don’t really have any true context of his character but from what I have read, heard and seen, I’m a big fan. I’m grateful that the Catholic Church has reviewed a leader that will probably help bring health and healing to their people. God knows they need some shame reversed through all the abuse scandals. I hope we will see more true leadership under his care in the days ahead. I’m not Catholic but I truly am proud to call him a brother in Christ that I admire.
