Chabad of Spokane County invites the community to join in its Purim celebration on March 24.
Purim in the Wild West will take place at the Southside Senior and Community Center, 3151 E 27th Ave., at 5:30 p.m.
Purim commemorates the deliverance of the Jews by Queen Esther from a massacre plotted by the Persian official Haman. It is a festival that is celebrated by publicly reading the Megillah (part of the Mishnah), dressing in colorful costumes and regaling the community with humorous Purim plays and skits.
Chabad’s celebration will includes a cowboy lasso show, a Western buffet dinner, Jewish country music, a mechanical riding bull and arts and crafts.
Suggested donation is $15 for an individual or $45 for the family.
