Martin Kavka, the Philip and Murel Berman Chair in Jewish Studies at Lehigh University, will discuss “Articulating a Positive Relationship Between Christians and Jews” at 7 p.m., Monday, April 28 at the Gonzaga University School of Law School’s Barbieri Courtroom.
According to a press release, Kavka will discuss how it is possible for Jewish-Christian dialogue to extend beyond mutual affirmation to a more positive and mutually supporting relationship.
“In a world where religions are often closely intertwined, relationships between religions can be complex. The relationship between Judaism and Christianity can be even more complicated due to their shared origins and the fact that Christianity arose in the Jewish faith background,” the news release reported.
The event is free and open to the public and will begin with a brief Holocaust memorial service.
