Hundreds of people gathered in the small Northeastern Washington town of Metaline Falls on June 20 and 21 to celebrate Bigfoot. Amid music, vendors and food trucks, believers and skeptics alike came together for a weekend built around the region’s most famous legend.

The Religion Desk visited the festival to talk with organizer Bill Bisson, the Sasquatch Hobbit Hunters, and a range of vendors and festivalgoers about what draws them to Bigfoot lore.

Author John O’Connor, who wrote “The Secret History of Bigfoot” joined the podcast from Massachusetts to discuss his research into the world of Bigfoot hunters.
