“We are all one”

One of my favorite pictures is of retired mixed martial artist Genki “The Neo Samurai” Sudo, holding a large banner with all of the flags in the world. At the center of the banner are the words “We Are All One.”

Whenever I see people, ordinary citizens and civil servants, rush to help people during a moment of tragedy, I think of Sudo’s words.

Finding humor in marriage

Being single, I may not have the best idea when it comes to marriage. From what I have seen with my friends who are married is that it takes compromise, trust and a whole lot of other factors.

Temple to celebrate Japan Week with annual food festival

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, located on 927 South Perry St., is holding its annual “Haru Matsuri” Japan Spring Food Festival fundraiser, in conjunction with Spokane’s Japan Week, April 21 from noon to 4 p.m.
According to a press release, 30 volunteers prepare and serve the Teriyaki Chicken in the span of four days.
