On April 22 the Friday Musical recital will be at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 East 12th Ave., and will feature the harpsichord, piano and organ, as well as other instruments.

The Tapestry Ensemble, which got together in 2014, is made up of Gretchen Ramey, harpsichord, Karen Stahl, flute, Gwen Innes, cello and Jill Cathey, oboe, will play “Bach’s Trio Sonata,” “BWV 1038” and the second movement from his “Brandenburg Concerto No. 5.”

Also performing will be pianist, Jody Graves, an internationally recognized performer and a distinguished performing artist, public speaker and master teacher of piano.

Janet Ahrend will polish off the program with a kaleidoscope of color, ranging from the 17th to the 20th century.  She is returning to a familiar set of manuals on the Aeolian-Skinner organ.  She was the organist-choirmaster at St John’s for 17 years, retiring from the Cathedral and her teaching positions at Gonzaga and Eastern Washington Universities in 2014.

The program begins at 1 p.m.  There is ample off-street parking in the lots behind Lindaman’s.  The public is invited to this free event.
