The Foley Institute at Washington State University will host a public talk “War in Iran: What’s Next for the Middle East” on April 23 from noon–1 p.m.

FāVS News columnist Lawrence Pintak will lead the discussion, bringing his award-winning journalism and former CBS News Middle East correspondent experience — having reported extensively across the region.

The discussion will answer two questions: What are the implications of the continued conflict in Iran, and what does it reveal about the future of the Middle East?

His recent FāVS News column, “Religion is shaping the news more than ever. Most reporters are missing it,” was featured on Religion News Association. It highlights how religious dynamics increasingly influence global events and media coverage — an issue closely tied to ongoing tensions in Iran and across the Middle East.

Pintak is also the founding dean of WSU’s Murrow College of Communication.

The event, held at 316 Bryan Hall on WSU’s campus, is open to the public, with pizza and soft drinks provided.
