For many years in the aftermath of the 9/11, we have been told that America is not at war with Islam or Muslims, but only with Muslim extremists/radicals/terrorists.

It seems that the New York Police Department has other ideas.

I cannot see how it is even slightly "inconsistent" for an atheist to argue that a particular god doesn't exist, though it would seem the questioner is trying to beg the question with the phrase "work against his existence" thereby embedding the reality of the god as an assumption.

In my opinion, chaplains exist to disciple and promote faith of some sort, usually in a deity.

Atheists, at least broadly, reject belief in deities

I think that might be difficult, since you have to be ordained within your denomination in order to be considered to be a chaplain. I don't know if the Freedom From Religion Foundation has got to the point where they ordain atheists: it might be profoundly against the point.

Although the Flying Spaghetti Monster crowd would probably start ordaining people if there was enough interest in it within the military.

As the world moves and changes, even a young president has a problem with it.

Whoa! What had I done? There I was face to face with this guy standing right there in front of me telling me what for. I was the enemy from his viewpoint. I had said or done something not to his liking and he was calling me on it big time. 

Over-the-top reactions seem the norm these days

Last weekend Spokane Faith & Values had a booth at Unity in the Community and I got to meet several new readers. Someone asked me if Spokane has a Baha’i community. I explained to him that there is actually a pretty active Baha’i community here.
