Right here in Spokane, we’ve already had incidents of racism and anti-Semitism. People are asking themselves how this happened, well, it happened because we have abandoned God and tried to fix things on our own.

When we reconcile, we reconcile to God and we move a step closer to being the people of God.

Pacifism seeks to break the cycle of violence by non-resistance to violence, believing that if enough people refuse to become violent in response to violence the world will become peaceful.

The press coverage about President Obama’s visit to Hiroshima divide into several camps. Some that saw it as morally wrong to apologize — although Obama never apologized.

May we come together for 10 minutes on Feb. 1 in conjunction with leadership of the three Abrahamic traditions that will actually be in Syria to pray together for peace.

We must, if we are to survive, see that our existence is vitally connected with the equally important existence of the other.
