“Silence can often seem like an absence of things; silence sometimes feels empty and heavy,” she said, “but I want people to be able to find silence and find the lightness and the freedom in silence.”
Sister Mary Eucharista, organizer of the retreat and program organizer at Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, said the retreat focuses on participants using a medium to gain access to “the grace of the retreat,” where they would paint icons in order to achieve that.
Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will be hosting an Ash Wednesday Silent Day of Prayer on March 1. The event is titled “Give Up or Give In” and will be directed by Fr. Philip Garcia, OFM.
The Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will host its dinner series “Historical Connections” centered on the effects of the Reformation and the Catholic Church in America, and the Middle Eastern Conflict on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
