Our teaching which is based on “The Science of Mind” written by Ernest Holmes in 1926 and edited in 1938 is about the empowerment of the individual and, therefore, the evolution of the human spirit or consciousness.
We believe there are many paths to God and each has its value to the individual that believes in that particular religion. We do not believe that a person is born in “sin” and must be saved; rather our belief is that we are born in perfection and the spiritual path is one of remembrance of that perfection. Since we are born in perfection, each generation has the ability to raise the human consciousness to a higher level of “knowing” and therein lays the possibility of peace throughout the world.
Through the combination of personal spiritual work and accepting of the new findings in science, we are at the threshold of seeing all life supported in a place of common respect.
At the esoteric level of all faith paths there exists the possibility of living in a world of respect for others, beauty in all creation, and a deep knowing of the perfection of all that is around us. Prophets and great teachers throughout history have taught of these possibilities and it is our opportunity to either step to a higher level or fight to keep the status quo which has been one of judgment, revenge, and a fiery end of the world. It is our choice.
Ken Wilber, a modern day philosopher, speaks of Spiral Dynamics as the way in which humanity embraces teachings and through so doing the consciousness of all humankind is raised. In the New Thought world, we see the possibility of reaching a tipping point as being the point at which human consciousness overwhelmingly desires peace, respect, and beauty — the time when the world will change from what we previously knew it to be.
I do not believe there needs to be a One World Religion, but rather a mutual respect of the faith paths which will lead to a more beautiful world (in my eyes).
