My kids are older now, one married, one moved out and two male teens at home. We did participate in the traditional practices of Easter when they were younger.
Now we often treat them with chocolate and candies if they are around but it’s more out of the joy of remembering than celebrating.
There’s that slightly painful place in parenting where you hang between what was and what is and nothing really prepares you for that emotional space.
We’ve yet to enter into the rebirth of childhood with grand-parenting but I look forward to participating in more joyful wonder again.
