The very title “Christian Left” is one that a lot of us are hesitant to take on. To some extent, that is because we experience it and its sibling, “Progressive Christian,” as incomplete or limiting categories.
I am aware of two locations in Spokane that will host Ramadan activities throughout the month: the Spokane Islamic Center and the Bosnia-Herzegovina Heritage Association of Spokane. Each location will be open to the public and everyone is welcome to come meet their Muslim neighbors and enjoy the food.
Somewhere across the years, however – sometime during that melancholic and hard and, I suppose, necessary process that we call growing up – most of us lose the ability to make friends with such rapidity and such ease. We became cautious, guarded, reserved.
