With the release of the Better Care Reconciliation Act, Centers for Spiritual Living stands with Americans for their right to pursue life regarding accessible and affordable health care, the organization said in a recent press release.
Using the Golden Rule, Centers for Spiritual Living said they share with those of all spiritual beliefs that the value of others should be treated the same as we would like to be treated, and is a vital part of the American Dream regarding the pursuit of a productive and prosperous life.
They said that affordable health care plays a significant role in the American Dream and is important for living constructive and inclusive spiritual values.
“Access to a healthy life is the right to all and the economic health of any country rests upon this right,” Rev. Dr. Kenn Gordon, spiritual leader of Centers for Spiritual Living, said in response to the release of the bill on June 22, while noting the right to “life” is listed alongside happiness in the Declaration of Independence.
Regarding excessive bankruptcies and crowd-funding campaigns due to uninsured health bills, Gordon said that “It is in the best interest of all to create a health care system that ensures that all U.S. citizens have access, and will not be financially devastated in the process.”
“It is a basic spiritual principle, that we are to do what we can to alleviate the suffering of others,” Gordon said. “When an illness leads to bankruptcy – or desperate GoFundMe campaigns – entire families and communities are adversely affected. Together, citizens of the United States could support a system where everyone who needs health care has access without threat of financial ruin.”
Centers for Spiritual Living calls on politicians to address health care in the U.S. because abandoning those in need demonstrates that the country is not governed on the deepest spiritual values nor understands those values.
