The Oak Tree will present a 6-part seminar on “Effective Activism: How to Foster Change” beginning Feb. 21.
The seminar is designed for those who would like to use the latest learnings from the social sciences to increase effectiveness, according to a news release, and will focus on the book, “Change Of Heart: What Psychology Can Teach Us About Spreading Social Change” by Nick Cooney.
The first four sessions will have a brief presentation, followed by group discussion. Sessions five and six people will begin designing a real life campaign.
The seminars will be at Salem Lutheran Church/St Paul’s United Methodist Church on Broadway and Walnut on Thursdays at 6 p.m. through March 28.
Faith Conversations (a weekly gathering to talk about values in the context of current events) will follow the seminar with discussion at Charley’s Grill & Spirits.
