St. Clare Ecumenical Catholic Community will now hold its weekly Sunday morning services at 3102 W. Ft. George Wright Drive. The Rev. Tom Altepeter said the move was made to accommodate continued growth.
St. Clare was formed in the Spring of 2012, and began meeting in the homes of participants.
“We have outgrown the home based model. We now have too many people to continue meeting comfortably in homes,” Aletepeter said.
The conference room in the building on W. Ft. George Wright Drive seemed the perfect fit, he noted. The building is the former residence of the Dominican Sisters, and the conference room is the former chapel.
“We are pleased that we will be able to use this beautiful, sacred space. It was designed as a place of prayer, and now it will continue to be used for that purpose,” he said.
The St. Clare community gathers to celebrate the Eucharist at 9:30 am each Sunday.
St. Clare is a member of the Ecumenical Catholic Communion (ECC), and the first ECC community in the Spokane regional area.
