Bishop Blase Cupich

Bishop Blase Cupich will be speaking in Spokane on Thursday. It’s his first local appearance since the public learned he was named Archbishop of Chicago by Pope Francis.

Cupich will be providing the blessing and making opening remarks at the Caring for Kids benefit luncheon Thursday at noon at the DoubleTree Hotel in Spokane. The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The luncheon is an event celebrating the importance of teamwork in raising healthy children in the community and is being held in support of St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, a program of Catholic Charities Spokane, and Morning Star Boys Ranch.

Keynote speaker at the luncheon will be Nada Stockton, an athlete, mother and the wife of basketball star John Stockton.

For information and reservations call 358-4254. Guests are asked to RSVP by no later than Wednesday afternoon.
