It's a new year with new beginnings, and as Pagans, such as myself take inventory of our supplies, our youngsters decide whether they want to follow in our footsteps and join the "magic circle".... and we parents loose our cool.
When I was 17 and still living in California, I worked in a very small spiritual/occult shop. My job was to keep the various merchandise (books, figures, candles, etc.) in order and dust free.
About a month ago I "came out" to my friends and family on Facebook. I posted that I'm proudly Pagan and proudly bisexual. After years of staying quiet about both, it was time. Thankfully, everyone on my friends list was supportive; everyone except my dad.
I woke up yesterday to learn that 19 men died while in the line of duty, only this time the men that died were not fighting terrorists, they were firefighters fighting an out-of-control wildfire.
As a new day begins, the rest of us will be going through our routines of getting ready for work, getting the kids off to daycare or daycamp, or making plans for the 4th of July.
"Are you a good witch or a bad witch?" To this day, that is still one of my favorite lines from "The Wizard Of Oz." I've actually had people (curiously, by more adults than kids) ask me this question.
What is a familiar? A familiar is an animal that aids a witch in performing magic by lending spiritual energy. A familiar will also act as a protector for the witch.
