Kay Bonikowsky is a pastor, writer and Bible nerd who writes about evangelicalism, Scripture, women, power, gender and faith after harm. She spent years in pastoral ministry, most recently as Women & Communication Pastor at a church near Seattle. She holds a Master of Divinity in Theological Studies.
Bonikowsky writes to help people, especially women, become Bible-savvy — developing the scriptural understanding to exercise good judgment, resist manipulation and reject fear-based interpretations. Her work explores how theology and biblical interpretation shape evangelical culture, leadership, gender and power. She writes at "Reading Without Fear" on Substack. She lives near Seattle with her husband and spends her free time gardening, reading and cuddling cats.
