Immaculate Heart Retreat Center will host a Vietnam Veterans Day of Prayer entitled, “Walking Wounded with the Resurrected Christ” led by the Rev. Joachim Hien, on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

According to a press release, Hien will, “speak about the deep suffering in trauma and the hope and light possible for the wounded warrior in the Passion and Resurrected Power of Jesus.”

Father Hien, one of the “Boat People” who came to the United States for refuge, saw first-hand the ravages of the Vietnam War on his own people and on the soldiers who were saving them, according to the news release.

The Day of Prayer begins with a Rosary at 9 a.m., includes two conferences, lunch, the sacrament of Reconciliation, and Mass. The Day of Prayer will close with Adoration.

Cost is $35 per person and includes lunch, (or $45 which also includes use of a private room for the day).

Guests are asked to register in advance by calling (509) 448-1224 or online.

Grounded in the Catholic tradition, Immaculate Heart Retreat Center provides opportunities for spiritual growth to all people on their journey toward God in an atmosphere of prayer and reflection.  Located 20 minutes south of Spokane overlooking the Moran Prairie, the Retreat Center provides a peaceful place for prayer and reflection throughout the year.
