Led by controversial pastor Douglas Wilson, Christ Church of Moscow has for years been planning a spiritual takeover of the town — transforming both its politics and its soul. Wilson is gentle and soft-spoken when not behind the pulpit but will go head-to-head with anyone in a debate.

On Oct. 25 The Moscow Human Rights Commission will present two speakers to discuss the religous exemptions for faith healing in Idaho.

Simmons, who considers himself a humanist and an atheist, is a long-time resident of Moscow, Idaho, where he is a board member of the Humanists of the Palouse and coordinator for its annual Darwin on the Palouse event.
