Humanity is rapidly losing the ability to grieve. We still ache and shed tears at the death of a loved one, but what about the living dead among us that we don't know, including those we think we know?

Living and grieving

First, grief is inevitable and is actually a part of living. Life begins and life ends and grieving is what we do for the latter.

What grief can teach us

Grieving teaches me that we don't know how much time we have left. If you need to do something — do it now.

Resolving grief is impossible

Grieving is never resolved, never finalizes our sorrows. That is my 35 year experience with dealing with it and counseling professionally.

Grief is often ignored

I think it teaches us that our inner lives, our souls, know loss but the feelings of grief are often ignored or minimized in our culture.
