Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., will headline the Council on American-Islamic Relations Washington chapter’s 2025 banquet Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Muslim Association of Puget Sound in Redmond.
Tlaib made history as the first Muslim woman elected to the Michigan Legislature and is one of the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress. Tlaib is also the first Palestinian American woman in Congress and has become a prominent progressive voice on issues including social justice and Middle East policy.
The event, titled “There is No Going Back,” will run from 6-9:30 p.m. with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at 17550 Northeast 67th Court, Redmond, WA 98052.
CAIR-WA will use the banquet to recap what organizers describe as one of the busiest years in the organization’s history while outlining future plans for advancing Muslim rights in Washington state and beyond.
Organizers say the banquet emphasizes the organization’s commitment to forging “a path to justice for Muslims in Washington and beyond” during what they call “a pivotal moment in history.”
Tickets are limited and can be purchased online starting at $39.50.
