With all the international efforts at raising funds for the disaster in the Philippines  we are in danger of forgetting those in need right in front of us. By all means make your donations this Sunday to your house of worship, but won’t you please come out and help our local unemployed and homeless Veterans. Only we, you and I, can make a difference.

Veterans Helping Veterans are short seven people to cover the street corners for their pre-winter fundraiser activity this weekend. It takes only about four hours out of your Saturday – This Saturday! Volunteers will be provided with safety vests, signs, and collection pole/baskets.  Pizza will be provided to all volunteers following the event. Willing participants can call me to let me know they will be coming so we can get a head count of our people, at  443-3751. Funds raised will help The Guardians Foundation.

Everyone needs to meet at Westminster UCC at 11 A.M.  We will deploy from here. The need is urgent.  Winter is upon us. This is a golden opportunity to show community spirit and I am hoping we can step up and help them out.

I know its short notice, but what a great opportunity to make a difference.
