My views of peace and submission have truly changed the older I get and the longer I observe how we humans interrelate.
For me, true peace is discovered as I learn to submit to the limitations of life, season and the work or will of God. People are most often the boundaries of those limitations. Marriage is a boundary made up of submission and peace. Work and worship all have people, place and procedures that I must learn to submit to in varying ways. I've become more at peace with myself, people and life as I've discovered the grace of healthy boundaries.
Submission is a gift, offered willingly and in love, it's not easy and spoils when demanded, denounced or denied but blossoms when it's the fruit of sincere love and respect. A truly peaceful fruit among those who are learning to celebrate their need for one another.
