President Thayne McCulloh of Gonzaga University will sign the St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor at 12:15 p.m., Oct. 7 on campus.

At the signing ceremony, all Gonzaga faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to sign the pledge along with him, according to a news announcement. The public is invited to attend.

The St. Francis Pledge is a project of the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change.

Then, at 7 p.m., in Jepson Room 108, there will be a special program,  “Melting Ice, Mending Creation: a Catholic Approach to Climate Change.” It will begin with prayer for creation and moves to a presentation on climate change and Catholic teaching.

The events are hosted by Gonzaga’s Advisory Council on Stewardship and Sustainability (ACSS).
