Michelle Kistler

Michelle Kistler is an assistant professor on the teaching career track who has taught a wide range of in-person and online courses in the Murrow College since 2018, including persuasion, media studies, research methods, advertising, communication theory and marketing communication. Before joining the faculty, she managed a statewide USDA-funded media literacy and nutrition curriculum project. Her research has focused on media influence, media literacy, family systems and adolescent development, with publications in journals such as Journal of Research on Adolescents, Mass Communication & Society and JAMA Pediatrics. She holds a doctorate in communication.
