Planted in 1997, Summit Church is just a year shy of its 10-year birthday in Spokane.

The church moved from its 55th Avenue location 2010 and is now located at 1801 E. 29th Ave. Brad Williams has been the pastor since then.

Growing from 200 people starting out to now, the church now serves 1300 people. Summit Church recently added an 8 a.m service time in addition to its 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services. The 8 a.m service time is temporary, as the church is planning to expand in March or April of this year.

In addition to four services on Sundays, Summit, a Foursquare Gospel Church, has Young Life on Monday evenings and Youth Ministry that meets on Wednesday nights, which includes fifth through eighth graders as well as high schoolers, called Summit Students. They also have quarterly meetings for young adults, called The After Party.  Summit also offers Women’s Wednesday as well as mentoring programs.

Summit also offers unique programs like Divorce Care, along with Anger Management, Single- Parent classes, and Financial Peace. Divorce Care is also available for the children bring impacted. Summit Church also has a huge heart for adoption and foster care, said Worship Pastor Nathan Lewellyn. Hosting dinner for families and support groups are available as well. Summit also offers Community Groups.

Lewellyn said the impact that Summit hopes to have on the Spokane Community is that they want people to be renewed by the Gospel. They want to see people impacting the community by showing the love of Christ, he said.

Lewellyn said Summit Church welcomes all to a comfortable and mellow environment to spread the Gospel.

“We understand that life is real, and that, uh, people mess up. And God’s forgiving,” he said.

The music played is everything from hymns to contemporary music.

Summit will be hosting Easter at Ferris High School this year.
