Art is a participation in the Divine

The soul’s energy needs expression

to love, to laugh, to create

Painting, dancing, sculpting, building

quilting, cooking, gardening,

singing, playing, writing,

all the soul’s expression of Love

to God and to the world

a gift to the Giver of All

The artist listens to the call

“You did not choose me, but I chose you

to go and bear fruit that will last”

Creative expression is the soul’s

response to God

for the gift of life and love

The soul becomes restless

when it cannot find an outlet

for the wellspring within

For at its birth, the soul

was given a kiss of the Divine

created in the image of the Creator

And given a mission, a desire to share

in the Creative Resurrection of the world

Art becomes a window to our Creator

for there are endless reflections

of the Divine Image
