FāVS News is midway through its summer fundraising campaign, pivoting to a new approach after previous initiatives drew limited response.
The faith and values news organization initially sought monthly sponsorships for reporting hours, attracting one supporter. A second effort requesting story sponsorships also generated one response.
Now FāVS is promoting its “bridge builders” series launching this fall — six in-depth stories profiling people who connect communities across the Inland Northwest. The multimedia project will feature photography and audio components, with Northwest Public Broadcasting distributing the stories regionally.
The series has secured partial funding from Humanities Washington and sponsorship from the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, but additional support is needed for completion.
How You Can Support FāVS
FāVS is encouraging supporters to consider its “Fund a Project” option at $25 monthly to help finance the series, which the organization describes as representative of its focus on exploring how faith and values influence communities beyond standard news coverage.
The campaign reflects the ongoing financial challenges facing specialized local news outlets while highlighting FāVS’s commitment to community-focused journalism in the region.
