Family Promise of Spokane, an organization aimed at helping homeless families in the area, is having a ribbon cutting ceremony tomorrow to celebrate its newest program — Open Doors.

Open Doors is a family day emergency shelter for displaced families needing warm shelter and help finding sustainable housing. The shelter, 631 Richard Allen Court, is open 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Volunteers are stationed there to help those using the facility connect to local resources, get food and supplies, take showers, do laundry and access a computer.

At tomorrow’s ceremony guests can tour the center. Light refreshments will be served. The event will take place  at 11 a.m.
