West Central Episcopal Mission will present its third annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser Auction on Oct. 11 at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

The event will benefit West Central Episcopal Mission, which provides weekly meals to the city’s homeless.

Guests attending the Empty Bowls Fundraiser will dine on soup, salad and bread, have the opportunity to bid on a variety of auction items and will be able to learn more about the work WCEm is doing.

Tickets are $20. Table sponsorships (seats eight) are also available.

Tracy Simmons is an award-winning journalist specializing in religion reporting and digital entrepreneurship. In her approximate 20 years on the religion beat, Simmons has tucked a notepad in her pocket and found some of her favorite stories aboard cargo ships in New Jersey, on a police chase in Albuquerque, in dusty Texas church bell towers, on the streets of New York and in tent cities in Haiti.
