As the country mourns the tragic Newtown shootings that saw 20 children killed, many are wondering what made Adam Lanza pull the trigger.
For some, it was the gun itself, and many have blamed the NRA and the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Still others point to Lanza's mental condition. But it seems he also had a spiritual problem that could very well have driven him to kill so many people, himself included.
On Wednesday, the UK Daily Mail published a report that says Lanza “worshiped the devil and had an online page dedicated to Satan” according to a classmate.
In their report, Meghan Keneally and Rachel Quigley said that Lanza's page “had the word 'Devil' written in red, Gothic-style letters against a black background,” something that former classmate Trevor L. Todd called “weird” and “gave him the chills.”
The Daily Mail said that the FBI is trying to put the pieces of Lanza's online footprint together from the smashed hard drive from his computer. The agency believes that Lanza boasted of his plans on message forums and made wide use of devil-worshiping sites and webpages that glorify suicide.
Conversations with those who were acquainted with Lanza, including his former barber, reveal that the young man was at best, introverted, and not easy to be around.
Dr. H. Wayne Carver, the chief medical examiner in the case, says he wants to know if Lanza suffered from a condition that could have made him violent.
“I’m exploring with the department of genetics what might be possible, if anything is possible,” he said. “Is there any identifiable disease associated with this behavior?”
But an op-ed at the Christian Post says Lanza was influenced by the devil himself.
“We will never know what voices Adam Lanza heard in his head….or what they were telling him. But whatever was going on at the time, Adam made the decision….and acted on his wicked intentions….and decided to do it, do it, do it. That degree of cold-blooded viciousness must in some way be connected to the influence of Satan,” Dan Delzell wrote.
Delzell goes on to say that Satan's fingerprints are “all over the weapon….and all over the scene….and all over the brutal killing of innocent lives.”
“When Adam entered the school, it was like Satan himself was entering,” he added.
But in the end, it was Lanza himself who pulled the trigger, not the NRA, not NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre, and not law-abiding gun owners and supporters of the right to keep and bear arms -— all of whom have come under vicious attack by those who wish to take advantage of a horrific tragedy to enact a political agenda.
Could God have stopped it? Sure, just as he could has stopped any number of tragedies. Delzell says that God “could have made robots instead of people” but that would remove the element of free will and free choice.
Lanza apparently chose — for whatever reason — to follow Satan, with disastrous consequences.
“Adam Lanza's free will choice has been made,” Delzell wrote, “and cannot be taken back.”
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly,” Jesus said in John 10:10.
A web page dedicated to Satan….. Really?
Did Satan have an AR-15 and belong to the NRA?
Barack Obama used a dead diplomat and 3 Navy SEALs, to win an election.
he uses 20 dead children to win a debate..
what kind of evil person did they elect?
Evil is most definitely afoot. Not just in this young man…..but in many many other individuals out there. We must defend and protect ourselves, both spiritually and physically. We must defend our 2nd amendment rights, for with out them we are defenseless physically. Without God, we are spiritually defenseless. Both are trying to be taken away from us. Take note people, and stand up to the evil, and for whats right and just!
Well said, Chris. Satan is among us, but so is Emmanuel–God among us. Good will triumph over evil.
Um have any of you seem this alleged web page? This is nothing but complete here say and speculation. You all are so quick to blame Satan and President Obama that maybe you should take a look at all the hate you yourself are preaching.
Well said Veronica! Finally, someone not willing to job on the Blame Satan bandwagon.
Come on, since the 1920’s history revisionists have been takeing all mention of God out of schools, but it is ok to talk about Satan. Without absolutes in any civilized nation, no boundaries, who’s to say what’s right or wrong. All of our laws from the begining of our country were taken from Gods word, in the Bible. So when our children can’t heir God say you shall not commit murder but they can go to the school library and che k out a book on Satan worship, what else do you expect from our children, you forbid God from stepping on the school grounds, but gladly let the devil in. The Bible say it sure and true, a fool says in his heart, there is no God.
No one’s preaching hate here Veronica. Talk about someone quick to use an easy catch-all phrase. Hate speech is the way to squelch any kind of speech these days. Who are we hating anyway? The Bible is absolutely clear that Satan and one third of heaven’s angels fell from sinning and are influencing our world. Yes God is in control but is allowing us to reap the whirlwind of our own arrogance and suppression of the truth. Satan is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and he’s getting a pretty good meal these days. The present and the future is in God’s hands and He is going to glorify Himself first by tremendous judgement, then by salvation and personal rule of planet earth. We as believers can trust Him to take us through all of it in victory if we exercise faith in Him. Not candy, but courage to be His witnesses come what may.
“Claiming someone is using hate speech” is what I should have said.
I actually came across the profile of this “Adam Lanza” mentioned in the article. The profile page was actually created after the real Adam Lanza was dead. It’s a fake.
Mass murders after gun confiscation by Hitler, Stalin and the Chinese during the last 80 years upwards of 50 million! Of course these were all “legal” murders.
Here’s a motive for Adam Lanza’s massacre – Adam was raped by a local, convicted Catholic priest, Fr John Castaldo, when Adam was 6 years old, and was taking revenge against other 6 year olds. Here’s the verified evidence:
http://neilallen76.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/why-adam-lanza-massacred-children-at-sandy-hook-newtown-a-theory/
It can’t be proven yet, but it is the best explanation yet for why Adam would want to take revenge against other 6 year olds, since no one protected him when he was 6 years old.
